Jigsaw Puzzles – Strategic and Fun Board Games
Same people may not know what a jigsaw puzzle is simply a tiling puzzles that are supposed to be joining together to form a certain image. These small pieces are able to fit to each other and have small images on them. When the pieces are joined together they form an image. The shapes of the pieces differ from each other but same can fit to others that are not supposed to fit together. This is what makes the game complicated.
The first one was made in the mid 1700′s. But types were very simple, a painting was done on a smooth wood that was rectangular and then it was cut into small pieces. The cutting was done with a jigsaw and that’s where the name came from. Afterwards the painting was gone on cardboards. This made it easier to cut the pieces and even playing it was not to difficult as the pieces were now made lighter. Using card boards is also cheap and more environmental friendly when producing in large quantities.
Nowadays they do not paint pictures when making them they just print a photograph in a huge cardboard and them it is cut into small pieces. The cutting is more complicated than it was before. The cutter used makes very fine cuts that you may not be able to identify when the cardboard is still joined together.
The pieces are made in a way that leaves them fully interlocked. This means when you join them together you will require same force to separate them. This helps in making sure that the pieces do not separate when you are playing.
Different people have different strategies of building a puzzle. Same will start with the edges then work themselves to the middle will other will just by joining the pieces that they see could be joined together. The best strategy is to use a complete picture to guide you when joining them.
Building a jigsaw puzzle is both fun and expands your knowledge. And it’s not just for children even adults can enjoy a jigsaw puzzle.
